To transform their business with AI, enterprises must embed it into their operations, from enhancing customer experiences to streamlining core processes like drug discovery and claims processing. To secure a sustainable advantage, enterprises should:

  • Compose AI initiatives from existing and cutting-edge capabilities: Quickly onboard innovations from open source and proprietary models and combine them with current techniques. Slow adoption forces data scientists to create custom environments, delaying progress and increasing compliance risks.
  • Streamline team collaboration: Enable smooth collaboration across data science, IT, and risk teams with a unified project context. Currently, fragmented tools and the lack of repeatable processes create delays and misunderstandings in the AI lifecycle.
  • Iterate faster: Build from the latest best practices and iterate rapidly for continuous improvement. Today, many iterations require starting anew, causing delays. Faster iterations compound into sizeable improvements in performance.

Domino’s Enterprise AI Platform is designed to orchestrate resources (data, infrastructure, tools) for AI teams (data science, IT, risk) to propel model lifecycles in our “AI Factory” while leveraging the AI system of record for best practices. It brings everything, everyone AI in one place and we’re unlocking more value by using these resources together. Case in point, we launched Domino Flows, an automaton capability that allows the modeling and management of multi-step computations across languages and environments, as part of our Summer Release 2024. We just launched Domino Governance to manage and enforce policies during projects (not after!) with instant visibility on risk and compliance as part of our Fall Release 2024.

But there’s more. As part of our Fall Release 2024, we’re taking a major step forward to increase the teams' productivity in data science and AI initiatives. The Domino platform now offers a redesigned user experience that helps even more by addressing the inherent complexity of AI initiatives while allowing them to collaborate seamlessly with their colleagues or tap into their peers' knowledge and best practices. Many teams often work on different technologies, infrastructure, and data sources in the platform. The new experience has been redesigned along three dimensions (AI lifecycle, user, and role) to improve user, team, and, ultimately, organizational productivity.

The right resources at users’ fingertips, at the right time

First, this new user experience is guided by navigation patterns that ensure it flows logically with the users' work while giving them quick access to critical actions and resources. These navigation patterns streamline the user experience and improve productivity.

  • The redesigned top navigation ensures instant access to essential resources such as data and infrastructure.
  • New pages contain all the capabilities, resources, and assets grouped by stage in the AI lifecycle.
  • The updated sidebar provides access to a given project's components and resources, grouped by type.

A personalized experience for more productivity and collaboration

Second, users now start working from a personalized homepage that ensures immediate access to ongoing work and all the elements that require immediate attention, ensuring prompt action and collaboration. On this homepage, users will find the complete context of projects they’re involved in, including recent projects, outstanding tasks, and new notifications. They will also find access to relevant resources of interest, such as new data science assets and new project templates (improved as part of our Fall Release 2024).

Role-optimized experiences

Finally, the experience streamlines and optimizes the work of each type of platform user based on their tools and goals. Data scientists and similar roles benefit from a streamlined and self-contained workspace experience. All workspaces can now be found in one page. They can now run and monitor jobs from the workspaces, with deeper visibility of jobs’ behavior. Similarly, Domino admins’ experience revolves around three pillars for improving quality and productivity: platform settings, resource management, and visibility, such as resource usage, user activity, etc.

But, you don’t have to take our word for it. See for yourself and watch this video.

This redesigned experience improves Domino’s ability to unify all the technologies, persons, and processes required to drive, scale, and govern enterprise AI initiatives. It empowers users to easily tap into the platform capabilities at the right time in the AI lifecycle, addressing their main challenges:

  • Composition: With the new experience, it is even easier for users to onboard new techniques or tools, or leverage existing ones, access resources and drive their project to production, improving their productivity.
  • Collaboration: The new experience becomes the common place where users across teams (data science, IT, risk) can find what’s expected of them with the full context. Whether putting models into production or reviewing them, users always have the right information to act at the right time, improving project velocity.
  • Iteration: Thanks to templates and best practices, projects rarely start from scratch. Domino’s reproducibility engine ensures rapid iteration, which is now easier to access than ever with the redesigned experience.

Domino’s redesigned user experience is available today in Domino Cloud and will be part of the self-managed Domino 6.0, to be released in November.
